University of Allahabad Invites Application for the Post of Information Scientist-01, Assistant Librarian-04,Professional Assistant-07, Semi Professional Assistant-05

Educational Qualification & Experience (if any) Essential Qualification:
B.E. /B. Tech. In information Technology/Computer Science & Engineering, OR Master Degree in Computer Application (MCA)or Desirable: 1. Master Degree in Library and Information Science (M. Lib.Sc. Or M.Lib.I.Sc.) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) 2. Five year experience in Information Communication Technology All Degrees / diploma shall be from recognized University/Institutions with minimum 55% marks.  

Name of the Post Assistant Librarian-04
Essential Qualification:
1. A master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in apoint scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library. 2. Qualified the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. OR   Ph. D/D.Phil. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations till date.

Essential Qualification: 
M.lib.Sc./M.L.I.Sc. OR Equivalent with 50% marks OR Master Degree in Arts/Sclence /Commerce or any other discipline with50% and B. Lib.Sc/B.L.I.Sc with 50% marks. Desirable: 1. Two years working experience in Library of Govt. Deptt/University / Autonomous Bodies 2. Familiarity with computer application to libraries

1. Graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce or any other discipline with 50% marks 2. B.Lib.Sc./B.L.I.Sc. with 50% marks or equivalent. Desirable: Knowledge of computer application in libraries and regional and foreign languages

General Instructions 
A: Selection Procedure For posts in Advt. AUNT 02/2016 &AUNT 04/2016 short listing will be done on the basis of relevant educational qualifications and experience. Screening test may also be held if needed. This will be followed by interview. For Posts in Advt. AUNT 03/2016 aSkill Test and anonline Recruitment Test will be conducted. Recruitment Test will be of 2 hours. It will consist of 200 multiple questions on Intelligence/ Reasoning, General Awareness including knowledge of current events, Arithmetical Reasoning, Language Comprehension –Hindi & English and Computer awareness. Skill Test will be a qualifying test. Those who obtain qualifying marks will be considered for recruitment. University has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in Recruitment Test and Skill Test.

B: Other instructions
1. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate to be called for interview/test.In case applications are more in number a screening committee shall shortlist the most suitable candidates to be called for the interview/test. 2. The University will not be responsible for any kind of postal delay. 3. Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance. 4. Qualifications & Pay Scale shall be as per UGC Regulations, 2010. 5. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC and PH shall be applicable as per UGC Guidelines and Govt. of India Rules. 6. For PH category candidates, 3% posts shall be reserved in all categories. 7. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) or partial or full advertisement at any time without giving any reason. The number of vacancies may change. Any consequential vacancy arising subsequent to the advertisement may also be filled up from the recommended and approved panel of candidates for a maximum period of one year from the date of approval by the competent authority. 8. Only matriculation/SSC certificate/Admit card/passing certificate issued by the concerned education board will be considered as proof of date of birth. No other document will be accepted for verification of date of birth. 9. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category should submit proper caste certificate as per the proforma of Govt. of India (which should not be more than 6 months old from the last date of submission of application).The certificate should among others specifically mention that he/she does not belong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) as mentioned in Col. 3 of the schedule to the Department of Personnel & Training in the Govt. of India OM No. /36012/22/93‐Estt. (SCT) dated 8/9/93 at the time of test/interview in case of OBC candidates. 10. Candidates belonging to OBC category, but coming in creamy layer will not be entitled to the benefits of reservation and should apply as General Category candidate. 11. Candidates must ensure before applying that they are eligible according to the criteria stipulated in the advertisement. If the candidate is found ineligible at any stage of recruitment process, he/she will be disqualified and their candidature will be cancelled. Hiding of information or submitting false information will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage of recruitment. 4 12. Only the short listed candidates will be called for interview. The University shall reimburse to and frosecond class rail fare by the shortest route or actual bus fare, (Government Transport) on production of tickets to SC/ST/PH candidates only. 13. The age of superannuation shall be 60years subject to amendment from time to time as per GOI rules. 14. Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and / or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Allahabad and courts/tribunals/ forums at Allahabad only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such cause/ dispute.    15. The University reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason whatsoever. 16. The University reserves the right to Revise/Reschedule/Cancel/Suspend the recruitment process without assigning any reason. The decision of the University shall be final and no appeal shall be entertained. 17. Any corrigendum/ changes/ updates shall be available only on our website 18. The candidate must attach copies of all relevant testimonials/ documents self‐attested. The original certificates would be required at the time of interview only. 19. The posts carry usual allowances i.e. DA, HRA and Transport Allowance etc. as admissible to employees of University of Allahabad. In addition to the emoluments, benefits such as New Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Reimbursement of Medical expenses for self and dependents, conveyance advance, Children Education Allowance etc. shall be admissible as per Prevalent University of Allahabad Rules. Accommodation will be allotted as per priority to be reckoned from the date of application/availability, in which case HRA will not be admissible. 20. Candidates desirous of applying for more than one level (post) should submit separate application for each level (Post) along with requisite application fee. Applications not accompanied with prescribed fees and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. 21. The employed candidate of Govt./Private Universities/Colleges/Autonomous bodies should send the applications through proper channel. However, they may  produce the  NOC from their organization at the time of interview with an unambiguouscertificate that (i) no vigilance case is pending/being contemplated against him/her (ii) the applicant will be relieved within one month of receipt of appointment offer, if he/she is selected. The Integrity Certificate, List of Major/Minor penalties, if any, imposed during the last 10 years may be asked to submit at any time. 22. The decision of the Vice‐Chancellor, University of Allahabad in all matter relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection and conduct of examination/interview will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/ her agency. 23. Applications received without the requisite documents and after the prescribed date will not be entertained. 24. Incomplete, unsigned applications and those not accompanied with copies of certificates and application fee will be summarily rejected. 25. Canvassing in any form and or/bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post. 26. The date of determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the normal closing date for receipt of Applications. 27. Candidates must be in sound bodily health. They must, if selected be prepared to undergo such medical examination and satisfy such medical authority as the University may require. 28. The envelope must be superscripted as application for the post of “Name of the Post”.   29. The competent authority reserves the right to extend the closing date for receipt of applications and also reserves the right to postpone/cancel the recruitment exercise for any/all the posts at any stage. 5 30. Non‐refundable Application fee ofRs. 500/‐ (Rs. Five hundred only for General and OBC candidates) and Rs. 200/‐  (Rs. Two hundred only for SC/ST candidates) in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Allahabad, shouldbe remitted through RTGS/NEFT to Punjab National Bank, Colonelganj Branch, Allahabad, India. The printed application form, complete in all respect along with other documents, bank receipt for payment of fee, etc as required must reach the Registrar, University of Allahabad, Allahabad‐211002 (U.P.) on or before June 10, 2016.
